new job = new wardrobe

With a the prospect of a new job, inevitably comes the understanding that you'll need to spruce up your wardrobe a wee bit. I was told that for my new job, I have to wear high heels everyday. Yes, you read that correctly. High heels EVERY single day. (So I don't want to hear about anyone complaining about their work wardrobe, unless you have to wear both highs heel and panty hose every day, in which case I don't envy your situation.)

With a small budget (more like a paltry budget), I took advantage of all the great sales going on at the end of June. As the stores made their way for fall clothing and eliminated their spring and summer looks, I plumped up my wardrobe with colorful basics.

I purchased:

- pink blazer (similar to this one from Rag & Bone below), only mine was much more affordable (from the LOFT)
- green pleated skirt (from Nanette Lepore)
- royal blue pencil skirt (from The Limited)
- pink bubble necklace (from The Blue Door Boutique)
- red ostrich oversized bag (from The Limited)
- file folders (from Target.)

I purchased everything (except the bubble necklace) on major sale or with gift cards (yay!), so I ended up spending very little. Cheers to a new work wardrobe!

changes.

I've lived for the almost the past decade (yikes!) in the Star City of the South (which, for those of you who don't know, is also known as Roanoke, Virginia.) As much as I love this city -- the people, the mountains, the "everybody knows everybody" feel, I'm ready for something different. Something very different. No, I'm not moving across the country and embarking on a new adventure, however, I'm moving. Moving to the Queen City, or Charlotte, North Carolina. I have a new job (hooray!), I'm finding a new place to live (yay for decorating!), and am hopefully finding new friends, a new community, and new opportunities. What exactly I've signed myself up for with this new move, I'm not sure of. All I know at this point is that I'm excited. VERY excited.
